How to apply for a support worker role

To join our team of dedicated support workers, please ensure you meet the following qualifications and follow the application process:

What we are looking for 

To be considered for a support worker position at Onward Care, you must meet the following criteria:

  • At Least 1-year experience as a support worker: We value experience as it demonstrates your ability to provide quality care and support.
  • Proficiency in English: Effective communication is essential in this role, so applicants should be able to speak and understand English fluently.
  • Rights to Work in Australia: You must have the legal right to work in Australia to be eligible for employment.
  • National Police Check: You will need to provide a National Police check as part of our screening process. You can obtain this check by visiting AFP National Police Checks.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check: We require an NDIS Worker Screening Check. You can apply for this check on the NDIS Commission website.
  • Working With Children (WWC) Check: You will need a Working With Children Check which differs in each state. You can apply here:

The application process:

If you have the required qualifications and have completed the required screening checks, follow these steps to apply:

  • Submit your application here
  • Screening: We will conduct initial screenings based on your qualifications and documents.
  • Phone Interview: If you meet our criteria, you will be invited to an initial phone interview. During this interview, we will enquire about your previous support worker experience, your availability to work with us, and your preferred date and time for the Client Interview.
  • Client ‘Meet and Greet’ Interview: If you successfully pass the initial phone interview and document verification, we will arrange a client interview, which serves as the second and final interview in the application process.
